How do you call a chicklit written from a guy's point of view and written by a guy? I only know that this book is super hilarious!After Oliver Sweet gets dumped in front of many people while he proposed to the "love of his life" after a visit on a Rollercoaster he is left heartbroken and oh God, the grief!He is a journalist and his boss thinks it's a good idea for him to write about his heartbreak and ask the readers for advice on how they coped with being dumped and then follow those advices and write about it. He isn't fond with this and doesn't want anybody know about his embarrassing proposal story but they need more readers to safe the company and since he thinks not too many will want to read his story anyway he just types away... The first article gets a huge success and so the adventures begin!I really liked the hilarious writing style - felt like when I tell a story to my best friend (but maybe that's just me hey!). Also liked that through the story he grows as a person and comes out stronger.Will definitely check out more of Nick's books in the future!

Having said that, Ollie is a bit of a weenie and I felt his character struggled to carry the weight of an entire book on his shoulders. The book is well-written, and as the story develops and Ollie grows throughout the book, you can see him stretching out and taking up the space he should, rather than stooping and accommodating everyone else as he was before. I also liked the fact that there was no classic "happy end", but rather a hopeful open end.
Another joyful read...a few phrases will linger and make me giggle inappropriately. This is what I expect from Nick Spalding. Neatly told story, screwball characters, and a bit of life advice.
Nick Spalding takes us on a great humorous look of Ollie's adventure , and experiences of life! I ,actually, laughed out loud to a cackle - something I haven't heard myself do over a book in a long time! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, and you will also.
Ollie is a dreamer. He has mental image of what love looks like a and it doesn't quite match real life. It's a good look at how one faces a reality check. It's a fun read. If you enjoy humor, even if most people wouldn't find break ups funny, you'll love it.
A very funny book, but a great piece of psychological advice for anyone having relationship problems. I loved the New Forest scene with the three deer, and the antics with the Scottish beauty treatment and his 'wee smidgees' plus many other similarly hilarious solutions the hapless InterWeb author tries in an endeavour to overcome his emotional loss. A good read.
This book cracked me up. I was thoroughly entertained.
